Gala Rouge Pinot Noir 2004

Period of Harvest: Late August / Begining of September

Where: The grapes for this wine are grown mainly in the Languedoc Roussillon, near Besiers and Carcassonne.

Winemaking process: Crushing, destemming and tanking.  The juice is fermented in a stainless steel tank between 20-23 degrees C. for three weeks to increase the fresh aromas and the body.  A part of the blend is fermented in French barrels (for the woody notes) and the balance is fermented in stainless steel tanks (for the fruity notes).

pH: 3.76

Acid level: 3.20 / L H2SO4

Sugar level: 5.5 g/l

Alcohol content: 12.5%

Color: Cherry color with garnet-red tints.

Nose: Hints of deep red berry fruits with woody and toasted bread aromas.

Tasting: Gala Rouge Pinot Noir has subtle touches of black cherry and blackberry mixed with highlights of woody oak and soft tannins.
